Pencil Dust by Lucy & Sophie

Announcing the launch date of Lucy Jane and Sophie McPike’s debut podcast PENCIL DUST!

We’re thrilled to share a magical new project blooming from one of incredible humans at Rainbow Muse Collective: Lucy Jane (art therapist, artist, and all-round creative powerhouse) and her best friend Sophie McPike (artist and animator) are launching their debut animated podcast, Pencil Dust!

It’s tender, funny, deeply creative, and so very them. What’s it about? Think art, friendship, neurodivergence, and all the beautifully messy in-between bits of life. Here’s a little more about the heart behind the project and a sneak peak of the glorious images.

Best friends Sophie (artist/animator) and Lucy (artist/art therapist) spent their youth and teen years immersed in creative worlds and struggling to figure out who they were and how to manage socialising and learning without the language to understand the overwhelm.

They’ve since been on their own separate journeys of self-discovery, compassion, and recognising their own power with art and creativity firmly entrenched in their lives. They wanted to make a podcast to share their conversations about the sticky parts of life, their belief that art is essential and has been their vehicle for finding safety and connection and empowerment.

Now as they both find talking weird, and Sophie is an artist/animator, they couldn’t make something just word based! Watch the podcast on YouTube to see Sophie’s beautiful and downright cute animations which she makes in response to the dialogues.

Join them as they share these conversations over the coming months—the first episode airs on Saturday 26th July at 8am AEST! Find them here: youtube.com/pencildustpod. The whole Raimbow Muse Collective crew will be tuned in beaming with joy!
